    He was in the team mainly for his crossing ability! not just for free kicks, will you all wake up and smell the coffee. He can put a ball directly on a strikers head, one chance...goal. There are not many players in game that can do the same, yes good crossers, but not quite good enough, a pin-pointed cross makes all the difference.
    By the way i`m a jock, and I think England have 4 GREAT players in.. Rooney / Gerrard / Terry / A. Cole, the rest are simpley Good.

      I'm English, and yes, it is annoying that we keep getting knocked out through penalties. But think about it, in every major tournament England nearly always manage to get far, and I cant remember them ever getting knocked out at the group stage.
      A lot of people share your opinion, even some english people, but the world cup isnt about criticising other countries' attempts to go in with a chance of winning it. It's about football fans around the world all coming together and having a good time supporting their country.
